I’m not surprised that Italy came out as being on top because it’s a place that has kept a lot of its traditions and values in tact, especially when it comes to the architecture and the people, who are always very friendly and amazing cooks!

We have been coming to Asolo for the last fifteen years during the month of October.The Villa Cipriani is our home away from home. The attentive staff service and cuisine are exceptional. Their are no words to describe the beauty of Asolo. It is truly the “Pearl of the Veneto”. You must come and see for yourself and you will return again.

Thanks for the summary! It’s interesting how the Conde Nast list of hotels differs from the one T&L put out recently.

The Villa Cipriani in Asolo is one of my favorite hotels in Italy so I’m glad to hear it made the list! I’m a little surprised that Capri beat Sicily and Sardinia – personally I totally disagree with that I’m thinking that people can get a feel for Capri in a couple days but with the latter 2 it takes weeks. And a bit surprised the Villa D’Este made it so high – people usually comment that it looks somewhat worn inside, though the service and the gardens are incredible. And I’m happy Sardinia’s Cala di Volpe made the list, but I would have put it higher…. incredible hotel! (they all are, though)
