If you are in Venice during the hot months an almost free thing is to go to one of the outdoor bars along the Zattere. For the price of a glass of Prosecco or a Spritz you can sit in the evening breezes, look across the Giudecca to the flood-lit Redentore, watch the boats on the canal and relax.

We love the list of free things to do in Venice you have created. It seems a very good choice to enjoy the city without spend a lot. We have made a guide that includes the proposed spots, you can see it here --> http://www.touristeye.com/Guide-Free-things-to-do-in-Venice-g-315
Thanks a lot for inspiring

When I was in Venice almost all of the churches were free to go into and considering there is well over 100 churches on the island that is a lot of free stuff. Most churches in Venice you wouldn't ever know they are churches because they blend with all the other buildings.

In the almost free category, I would include the 15 Chorus churches, which at 3 euro a pop or 9 euro for a year pass to all of them. They contain some of the best art in the city! Santa Maria dei Miracoli is one of the churches that is part of the scheme. www.chorusvenezia.org

My other favorite thing to do is just walk around at night. Obviously free, the city is safe, no crowds, and it's just beautiful.
