I got my name through the monks somehow going back to my grandfather .Renato cappuccino .there wasn't many cappuccino names out there and I know he was adopted by the monks. Was wondering if there's any other cappuccino's out there and if it was a orphanage why wasnt every child given that surname.?

I have been to Italy several times, spending time with gli Italiani. This is true that people do no have have cappuccino after 11, more likely after 10 ish.

For those who want to be weight conscious... having that Starbuck's (or other coffee co. beverage) as a meal would be better without the pastry.

Cheers!

Thanks for the note, Stephen - I love the stories & legends, even if I know they're not true. To me, it's one mark of a beloved part of a culture when it gets caught up in legends and myths. :)

One of the stories I heard was that the "hood" in question was the layer of milk froth that covered the coffee layer. I prefer the other legends though.

I loved this, Jessie! I didn't know those cute little monkeys got their name from the monks also.

I would also order a cappuccino after lunch sometimes in Paris, and I was always greeted with the same puzzled look of confusion.
