Hi, Aldona:

I recently posted an article on how to find out whether the various train stations in Italy have luggage storage options (you won't find lockers or other storage options at all stations in Italy) - this may be useful to help you figure out whether the stations you'll be visiting even have storage options:
http://www.italylogue.com/planning-a-trip/luggage-storage-in-italy-train-stations.html

If the stations you'll be passing through don't have luggage storage, I'm not really sure what to tell you - I doubt you'll be able to store your bags securely at Herculaneum itself (I've never seen a tourist attraction like that prepared to take anything bigger than a coat or a small backpack). Is there any possibility of shifting your schedule around so that you're going to Herculaneum when you don't have luggage? Perhaps at the end of your trip?

Ciao,
Jessica

Hi, Luggage Problem! We are flying into Naples around 1:30 pm and will spend one night in Sorrento before heading off to Positano. Our problem is how to see Herculaneum with luggage on our way down to Sorrento. Is it safe to leave it at Herculaneum or should we leave it at the train station in Naples or Ercolano? Thanks!

Karen, great post. I couldn't agree more. Ercolano was so much more fun to visit and much prettier. You could actually picture the people relaxing in their vacation homes.
