For this Italy photo of the week, we’re in Bologna:
This is easily one of my favorite photos I’ve ever taken in Italy. In the background you see the Piazza Maggiore, Bologna’s main square, and these ladies were sitting at that table just on the edge of the square for hours – talking, laughing, and greeting just about every passerby. The husband nicknamed them “The Queens of the Piazza.” I imagined that they met at that cafe, at that very same table, every morning (or at least every week) to catch up and gossip. What a life.
