Italy Photo of the Week: Trastevere Dog

For this Italy photo of the week, we’re in Rome:

We’re in the Trastevere neighborhood in Rome, actually - and in the piazza in front of Santa Maria in Trastevere church to be exact. I was strolling through the Trastevere (which I loved, as it was a welcome respite from the hustle and bustle of the rest of the city) when I saw this little dog batting an empty water bottle around like a soccer ball. He was clearly playing with it, but got very protective anytime another dog would come close - that’s when he’d pick it up in his mouth like he’s doing here, and trot off to find a different place to play. Too cute.
