  • Santa Maria della Salute, Venice, Italy

I'll take one ticket to Venice, please. No, one-way will do nicely. *sigh*

  • Smooth, flavorful gelato may be Italy’s greatest attraction

There's a recipe for fruit gelato at the bottom of this article that I'm curious about trying… I still think my strawberry gelato is damned good without using mascarpone, but I'm sure adding the cheese makes the consistency even more voluptuous. (from @michellefabio on Twitter)

  • Win a Bag of Café Orzo: The Italian Caffeine-Free Alternative to Coffee

  • George Clooney faces hordes before testifying at Milan fraud trial

  • Take a dump in a masterpiece: In Italy even the porta-potties are art

Oh my – porta-potties covered with iconic images of Italian art? Yes, please. (I still think I'll admire them from afar and look for a toilet at an AutoGrill instead, but at least these are prettier than the usual industrial blue.) (from @casinadirosa on Twitter)

  • Phototour – Venice at Carnevale

You know how much I love Venice… I'm always happy to hear about someone else who loves the city as well, especially when she's at her cold and foggy best. This set of photos (scroll down for the whole gallery) is just dreamy.

  • Maldini indictment sought in tax case

Tax evasion is quite common in Italy, and this new case involving soccer legend Paolo Maldini isn't the first time a celebrity has been accused of trying to dodge the country's tax laws. As Italy attempts to crack down on tax evasion (again), it'll be interesting to see how this case pans out.

  • Vatican makes attempted ordination of women a grave crime

Oh, dear me, Vatican. Really? Ordination of women is on par with sex abuse of minors now? For shame. (from @AlexBerger on Twitter)
