After just returning from 2 weks in Europe, and being in Venice on May Day, I have one thing to offer:

Don’t go to Venice on May Day weekend! What to many Italians do on May Day weekend? GO TO VENICE!

It was insane. It was unruly. It was agony. It may our stay in Venice awful. Pushing, shoving, rudeness, way too many people, and an awful time in trying to enjoy Venice.

We retreated to the San Polo area, a ways from our hotel, in order to have at least a small restbit. But, then we had to go back into battle to get back to our hotel.

Venice may be the city of romance. But, during the May Day weekend, it’s a battle inside the Colliseo!
