Venice is nice but expensive as I found out during the carnival this winter. Nothing though beats the party – when all the young people come out and fill the streets with music. Really hard to move about the city then. The vaporetto’s are packed and the police makes some of the streets one way!

It’s such an amazing city, Nikki, but I’m not sure I could live there… Maybe for a few months… Then I’d have to “surface” and remember what the real world looks like. Next time I’m there, though, I’ll definitely let you know!

It’s so nice to hear a positive spin on Venice, especially living here – you’re right, it is another planet! Some days I can’t get enough of it, some days I just wish I never came in the first place
You’re right though, it’s definitely worth taking the time to appreciate, there is no where like Venice on earth!

Yes, I dearly love Venice too. It is very often choc-a-block with sight-seers, but it is one of the most magical places I know of.

If you do manage to get off the beaten track, as mentioned in this charming post, there are some glorious corners to discover too.

Along with Pompei, for me Venice is one of Italy’s ‘must see’ places.

Beautiful Venice she is. To have once experience of a special place, is priceless…
