I LOVE LOVE LOVE the city notebooks. Like you I didn’t want to mess them up at first, but realized I was being silly. Each one has become both a valued resource and a treasured memento. The perforated squares are called “loose notes for quick messages,” so my best guess is they are meant to be torn out when you need to give someone a note or bit of info (phone number, address, etc), or you need to take a small bit of info out of the notebook for some other reason.

Jessica, glad to know that Powells has them – I'll have to stop by on my way home from work tonight! My mother-in-law bought me one for Paris and I can't wait to use it in September. Glad I am not the only one who was wary of "messing up" such a pretty book by writing in it!

Yeah, once I finally figured out how I wanted to use them, I really became a fan of these notebooks. I saw Torino on the list of Italian cities that they’ll be adding to the notebooks range, it’ll be interesting to see what other cities in Italy make the cut.
