And here is another example of prejudice against the Catholic Church… which would be in contrast with nude beach… and the “progressive view of sex and nudity”, I suppose…
Progressive… from which point of view? Yours? Please, please… Who decided that YOU are progressive, and others not?

This is a strange assertion that nudity and Roman Catholic Church are mutually exclusive. Catholic culture is dominated by works of art that display nudity. And, unlike the US evangelists and mormons, Catholics are rarely puritans.

C’mon… You have to agree that in general Catholic Church equals conservative views… and nudity doesn’t go with conservative. (I’m talking about Sunday mass attending, communion receiving, no contraceptive taking catholics, not confuse with the “I’m catholic just because I was baptized and married in a church” kind) .

i think the nude beach is good for health you show the people everything you have and the people show you they have . if the everything is available then no crime of rape type .

i doubt anything was meant other than: "in contrast to the hypocritical and puritanic approach of protestants and most english speakers"… etc.
always remember that readers are coming at a text with pre-conceptions, like, if they're latins, there must still be honor-killing, dueling (german, actually) and spying big brothers rampantly not far away, or if they're italian, they eat spaghetti all day long and thus have figures that nobody would bare in public (as opposed to americans who are slim and healthy thanks to BLTs and diet coke)..,

perhaps the catholic church dominates the italian politicals,but she does not dominate the italian people.Italian catholics( no more 30% in the churchs for sunday)are moralists of course, but they are not prudish. Is different.
i am italian(born in Italy) and i ‘m agnostic.
Italian agnostics? Yes they exist!
