I’ve visited Sedlec Ossuary in Czech Republic a while back but I had no idea there’s another bone church in Milan. I’m only about 2hours away from there now(I live in Vicenza,IT).

In a quick search, I can’t find anything about a San Bernardo chapel online, and I don’t recall seeing anything about da Vinci at the chapel I went to in Milan.

I was wondering if you knew about a Chapel of San Bernardo that Leonardo da Vinci painted a fresco of the nativity in was in Italy anywhere, or if it was the same one that you went to. I’m doing a project on him and I need to know wher the chapel is. Thanks!

I don’t know about an English contact for that church, but have you already done your research on eloping in Italy? It’s actually incredibly challenging to do… My advice is to find a wedding coordinator in Italy to handle all of the paperwork (there’s a lot!) and arrangements for you. And if you’d like to see if San Bernardino alle Ossa is available for an elopement, then contact a wedding coordinator in or near Milan so they’re most familiar with the area.

And FYI, the chapel with the bones was really chilly when I was there in March!

Do you know if there is an English contact for the Church? Forgive me if you think it’s macabre, but my fiance and I wanted to elope and exchange vows in a beautiful, spiritual, and fascinating place, and this seems almost perfect. Do you think they would allow it?

I agree, Mike, I love this chapel – and especially because it’s (a) so close to the Duomo and (b) free to enter, it’s definitely on my must-see Milan list, too.

Came here many times while living in Milano.
It made such an impression on me as to the relationship between God and man and man seeking to be closer to his creator.
This is a must see while in Milano and only three blocks from the Duamo.
