Of the many towns that dot the coastline of the Amalfi, Positano is perhaps the most popular. Because of this, it’s also one of the more expensive towns to stay in on the Amalfi Coast. Not only that, many people choose to stay for longer periods in rental apartments rather than hotels, so Positano isn’t as draped in hotels as you might imagine.
Still, there are hotels in Positano, and there are some that won’t cost a fortune. Positano is an incredibly vertical city, and reaching some of the hotels can require a hike up steep stairs to different upper levels of the town – so be sure to find out precisely how far you’ll have to walk to get to your hotel (and this may be a good incentive to pack light).
