For this Italy photo of the week, we’re in Turin:
Yes, you’re looking at the door-knocker on some random building entrance in the city of Turin. Yes, there are arguably plenty of things in Turin that are more worthy of being singled out for a photo, and it’s extremely unlikely that someone’s going to organize a “Tour of Italy’s Great Door Knockers” anytime soon. So why am I highlighting this door knocker in Turin? Because for me, both travel and photography are about focusing on the little things as much as the big things. They’re both about finding beauty in unexpected places, about creating a special or memorable moment where none exists. And that’s why as I walked down this Turin street (which one, I don’t even remember now) and saw this beautiful door knocker, I knew I had to stop and take a picture.
Now, won’t you share your Italy photos with us? Whether it’s something big or something small, we want to see it all! Send your Italy photos into our photo contest today!
