Art Exhibits and Music Festivals Going on Now in Italy

Here are a few posts about what’s going on in Italy this July – if you’re planning a trip this month, check them out to see if you’ll cross paths with anything you simply must see.

  • Italofile notes that outdoor music festivals abound in Italy in July, so it’s a great time to enjoy the open air and some fantastic music. Personally, I highly recommend seeing an opera in Verona – even if you’re not an opera lover – but there are plenty of other options, in all musical styles and in other parts of the country, for you to choose from.
  • Italy Magazine highlights the art exhibitions which are currently running throughout Italy, including a showing of Piero della Francesca’s masterpieces in Arezzo, a collection of Marc Chagall’s work in Rome and some of Paul Cezanne’s more famous works in Florence.
  • The Venice Biennale is in its second month now, and will continue through late November. The festival, held every other year, “is the oldest and possibly best known international contemporary art event.”
