British Embassy and Consulates in Italy

· Updated · BootsnAll

Here is the contact information for the British Embassy and Consulates in Italy. While you hope to never need their services while you are traveling, it’s good to know they’re there if you do! The UK now runs just two offices in Italy that help British travelers: the embassy in Rome and the consulate general in Milan. Neither has a public phone line for general enquiries. You contact them through an online form, which also handles emergencies, and you can only visit by appointment.

This embassy handles relations with the Vatican only. It does no consular work and issues no passports, so British travelers who need help should go through the embassy in Rome.

There is no longer a British consulate in Florence or Naples. In an emergency anywhere in Italy, dial 112 first.
