All of the U.S. missions in Italy now share one website, it.usembassy.gov, which has current hours and the online appointment system. Routine services such as passport renewals and notarials are by appointment only. If your passport is lost or stolen, you have to go in person to Rome, Milan, Florence or Naples for a same-day emergency passport; the consular agencies in Genoa, Palermo and Venice can’t issue them.
